Her...

It was a clear morning… The sun had just arisen from its stupor breaking rays of light across the landscape. I was taking a stroll on the riverside where I see almost everyone bearing down on their daily exercise. I decided to join in and jogged my way to a distant bend.

And there she was taking a short hiatus from her own regimen. With her water bottle at hand, she was looking across the river where the sun was breaking free from the clutches of the clouds that hid its presence earlier.

I continued to jog though I would have preferred to stop and engage in a conversation with her. I looked back and there I saw her being engulfed by the brilliant rays of the sun that I only see her silhouette amidst the backdrop of greens, yellow and dazzling gold.

My heart skipped a beat so I stopped dead in my tracks.

I saw her come closer. She continued her way. As she passed by me, I felt a slight waft of wind brush through me. I could smell the fragrance of her hair which reminds me of Jasmine, a favorite flower of mine…

I would have loved to run with her… But, I was hesitant for I may not be able to keep up and commune with her. I allowed her to widen the gap between ourselves…

Then, an embarrassing moment happened… I lost my balance then stumbled and fell...

She must have seen me somehow for she came running back… She extended her hand to help me up. I gazed through her eyes then noticed slivers of sweat come running down the side of her face. I wiped it with my hand unintentionally brushing her hair. I could sense her astonishment so I immediately let go… But then she smiled…

I offered her my thanks and asked if we could run together. She agreed…

It made my day…
