46 ~ the calm after the storm

As the first streaks of light break through the overcast sky, the sound of silence pervades. The foreboding sense of apprehension is lifted replaced a feeling of relief.

Trials only last for a moment. They won't linger. Pain and misery will  always come to pass.

A lone white dove takes off from its hiding place. Unharmed, it flies high in the sky. There is hope. There will be rebirth.

All that grows from the earth will take root, sprout and take a new leash on life. They will rise from the devastation, thrive and spread out. A new generation will succeed those that were lost. Sidlakan will flourish once more as do the forest of Amandiwin and its denizens.

With the aid of the elementals, regeneration will happen at a hastened pace. In a few months, life will take root and everything will be restored from what it was once. This is how things are supposed to be. But this will not happen this time around after Viradjan was toppled down by the Uracan.

From the loss of the Viradjan, a new tree will grow in its place supplanting the former. Sidlakan will return to its former self at a slower pace with the growth of this new tree.

Through the heartfelt appeals of the elementals, Sidlakan will be bestowed special protection from forthcoming tempests by the god of the southerlies Timog, the goddess of the northeasterlies Alunsina and Kaptan, the master of the skies. In doing so, Sidlakan will be effaced from the face of the earth in the eyes of man.

Those that managed to survive will need to stand on their own. Their brethren who entered the portal cannot leave the confines of their sanctuary until the new Viradjan comes of age.

There will be silence. There will be a long calm after the storm...
