41 ~ Refuge
There is no room for complacency. As the island hunkers down for the Uracan, the elder elementals have agreed to open the portal to Ophiroth. The creatures of Sidlakan will be given a safe refuge in the parallel world.
They have done this in the past and they will do so time and time again. In the face of imminent danger, safety mechanisms have been prepared.
Some creatures the world believe as extinct are in actuality alive and surviving. This is all thanks to a few elementals who manage to keep things in perspective and the gateway that has served as a leash on life when the island is faced with an impending doom.
Opening the gateway is by no means a simple feat. Aether will be consumed. It is one thing the elementals can wield where man cannot. It is the life essence of every ethereal being, spirit or elemental alike.
Alvae took out her syrinx then began to play. Soft notes fill the air with a soulful melody. Every mobile creature whether large or small, intelligible or not whose heartstrings seem to harmonize to Alvae's aria are drawn to the melody which seems to draw a path towards Viradjan. Snared in a trance, they gathered in groups then fell in line as if they are being led by an unseen string.
Lumina and the rest of the Elders focus their energy to weakening the barrier and unlocking the portal. The sun is still out in the sky, but in a few hours the situation is going to deteriorate. They need to have everyone safely onboard before the Uracan arrives.
Situated on five distinct locations around Sidlakan, the Elder Spirits of the wind, water, earth, fire and light gather aether from their niche channeling the drawn energy to Viradjan activating the Runic seals, releasing their binding spells.
The magic of the wilderness is being brought to the open, taming the wild. Forces of nature are working hand in hand for the isle's preservation. There is no power strong enough to dishearten a pure heart.
