47 ~ Rebirth

The devastation is beyond compare...

Amandiwin was stripped bare of its greenery. Patches of land lay exposed to the elements when it was once shrouded by trees. Grasses were swept away by the cascading waters. The rivers, streams and other water tributaries had been drastically altered by the raging torrents of water accompanied by rocks, soil and other debris.

What was left of the forest is a vast stretch of glabrous trees majority of which had been toppled down to the ground.Stench of decaying matter fills the sullen isle. There were only shades of orange, brown and gray. The seeds of darkness take hold.

But life does persist. Whatever was left of the maelstrom seems stubborn enough to survive and ultimately thrive. From death, new life takes root until it eventually blooms.

The cycle of life continues...

As the ancient Viradjan decays, its remains nourish the earth on which it once stood. Years came to pass and not one single plant grew on its grounds until that day the shadow of the moon engulfed the sun covering the island in total darkness.

During that time, everything came to a standstill. No creature flew, moved or swam. The air was unmoving. The waters were calm. The forest became inanimate.

As the eclipsing shadow gradually gave way to Sol's light, a new sprout shoots up from the ground on which the ancient Viradjan was once was. It will take centuries before this new tree takes the place of the former.

Only by then will the rebirth of Sidlakan will finally be complete.
