35 ~ Reunited?
A stage has been set for the meeting of two kindred souls. One of whom is in search for a way back to his love while the other is bound to preserve and guide the latter.
As the wisps had been led away, the once overcast sky also cleared up. Pockets of light from the shimmering distant stars replace the clouds that are slowly being effaced into the background. There in all its splendor, the river of heaven, the Milky Way came into full view.
The sound of rustling twigs and branches from the nearby shrubbery awoke me from the semi-trance like state I was in. I looked down and to my consternation, I was about to slip into the edge of a very deep cliff. "The wisps do really live up to their reputation", I muttered to myself.
I walked back onto the confines of safety. The skirmishes continued. I could surmise that something or someone is looking at me. I turned around. Hidden in the bushes, a speck of light got reflected in the creature's eyes. I knelt down on one leg checking out what is making those crinkling sounds. I moved to directly in front of those eyes I had seen. Whatever it is, I am thankful enough that it has saved my life and I know that it does not have the heart to hurt me at least physically.
I extended my hand in a friendly overture. From the shrubbery, it slowly emerged from its concealment. Furry, the same set of icy blue eyes...
I called on him gently. He slightly hesitated, but did come forward and came to sniff then lick my extended hand. He then looked at me. I looked at him back. At that moment in time when our eyes met, a bright shooting star fell from the sky leaving a trail of silvery light across the horizon.
Chase...
