20 ~ Viridjan

When I was but a child, my late grandmother Lilly would
often tell me about a place that is neither of this world nor within the next
which exists within the confines of our consciousness. She would often speak of
enchanting creatures and ephemeral beings that would pass this world once in a
while from age-old trees or primeval rock formations and the likes of which serve that as pathways to both worlds.
Among these is a gateway that is most unusual among the rest
for no man is able to cross the divide except on a very old tree heavily concealed in the forested interior of the Amandiwin mountain range, a tree that withstood the ages from a
time when the two worlds were still in concurrence with the other offering
access at atypical times in years to the famed mythological enchanted city of Viridjan. It
is where I must traverse in search of the woman who had captured my soul.
And it just so happens that is that time of the year when
Luna is at its closest to Gaea. The tides are at its lowest as the earth
bares itself to the moon and the sun, the greatest spring tide in two years.
There may be a chance that the combined gravitational tug would open the portal
allowing a mere mortal like myself to enter Viridjan.
No matter how little that chance would be, I’ll gather that
courage as the sunstone had indicated that I should…
