09 ~ the realization....

The whiskered Bakkun peeked below the clouds selectively looking at his next target. On the far side of the lake is a dense forest. Wherever he goes, strong gusts head toward the same direction and with his thunderous roar, nothing would stand thereafter. The trees don't stand a chance at life and were totally wiped out. Such ruthless ferocity from an untamed creature who somehow escaped from the clutches of a fathomless abyss from which it was incarcerated for a long time.

But then, a huge intense bolt of lightning pierced through the sky hitting the primordial dragon on its side. A cry escaped from the Bakunawa reverberating in shockwaves clearing the clouds it blew into allowing light to pierce through illuminating the turbulent waters. In retaliation, Bakkun sent a flurry of whirlwinds in every direction, aimlessly knocking whatever they come into contact with.

Everything is about to break loose and there is nothing that can be done except to escape the impending doom. I was about to mount Chase when I caught sight of the flickering lightning glass. I urged Chase to wait for a bit as I decided to pick it up. It was still warm at my touch. But there was no more time, I hurriedly took it then climbed onto Chase.

Chase sprinted as fast as he could avoiding the direction of the Bakunawa trailing the water's edge, but then it seems that Bakkun took notice as he changed direction now heading towards our way.

Is this the least that I can do? I have been incessantly  running and chased ever since I set foot in Ophir, an enchanted world from which myths and lores arise. But perhaps I have been led here because I have a story that is about to unfold, giving credit to this world's existence...
