04 ~ Reflection
What lay beyond me will forever
be etched in my mind as a gentle zephyr blew against my cheeks. If there is
such a place as heaven, then Ophir must be that place. Its pristine forests
dominated the landscape, only broken by swathes of cerulean lakes and silver
streams. This must have been how everything looked like in the past where
nature took precedence over men.
The clouds seem so close. It is a
land where the earth meets the sky. Verdant trees grow tall almost touching the
heavens, shrubberies; foliage and grass carpet the uneven terrain. The air, so
fresh reinvigorate my senses.
I knelt to take a sip on the cool
water on a nearby brook. The water is so clear, it mirrored the sky. There I
was unknowing as numerous eyes fix their gaze on me. Who could they be, I do
not know but sooner than later I am bound to meet.
I turned to Chase and to my surprise;
he turned into his regular size, and not like the humungous creature he once
was. Playfully moving about, scampering on the water as if trying to catch fish
brought a smile to my face.
On a deeper thought, I had
arrived but I had nowhere to go. Where am I and why was I led here? These are
things I simply do not know and much less understand. But surely, I am led here
for a reason which is something that is still has to be unveiled.
As I looked at my reflection on
the water, I came to see the face of a man, no longer the boy I once was.
