Loyalty...


It has been quite a while since the last time I have seen him. I miss my old pal very much...

I remember the first time I have come across him. He was so tiny, so little. He could fill the space on both of my palms. He had this wide look in his eyes. I picked him gently. He would softly squeak. 

Within a short span of time, my buddy grew up. I would carry him tenderly in my arms. He would not squirm or complain and he would look at me with the same wide eyes back when he was very little. Wherever I go, he goes... Whatever I eat, he does want to eat it too. 

He has a very regal name, but is more telling of bonds and friendship, of loyalty and fidelity.

I was still young and still immature back then. I was too eager to go out and meet the world. Responsibility was just a word that would cross my mind, but I dared not entertain. I left home, and every time I do... there he was. While I was leaving, he would cry his heart out. I could only make a backward glance. 

At the back of my mind, I was telling him that he has nothing to worry about for I will be coming back soon.

Time went by. I do go home from time to time. While still far from his sight, he would be calling out for he knew it was me who is coming back home... and he was really happy to see me. I could surmise that his heart would skip a beat during homecomings. I would take him in my arms and dance to an unknown tune. I am very sure he misses me terribly, much more than I do to him.

Seasons changed and years gone by, I still go through the same routine... for despite how much I wanted to be at home, life always takes me. Along the way , I did mature and learned how to live responsibly.

But, I notice my old pal becoming more laid back. Still, he would happily welcome me... He was my companion during those tumultuous years of my life and he never left my side. In his thoughts, I am probably in it... Always...

As I age, he is aging more than I do... 

But still, I think he has more years left... And I hope I could spend more time with my old pal, my dog... Naruto...

Amidst the roaring sea

Too much time has passed. Though still young, I already feel old at my age. Why do things have to turn out this way? What have I done to merit this kind of life I’m leading now? I am supposed to be happy and content with the things I have achieved. Yet, there is a certain inkling in my heart telling me that I am supposed to be someplace else and that I have something yet to do which will prove the worth of my existence.  I have lost my self-worth in the midst of my journey. on the evening of that same day, with a heavy wounded heart I set out on a stroll. the sky has cleared since then and all that I can see is the wide expanse of the celestial sky filled with a multitude of stars, the pain within could not conceal the grief that extends to the very soul... as I made my way towards a cliff beside the sea, tears flowed out of my eyes obscuring the dimly lit path I looked up once again.
