Rainbow...

The air began to dampen...

As I peeked outside my window, the sky gradually turned into gray with a tint of yellow, bringing shivers down my spine. Everything was at a standstill with neither leaves or brambles moving. 

An eerie darkness then ensued conveying thoughts of fear and trepidation. A breeze broke through the lull, rustling the leaves, impeding the tree branches and bushes, blowing the curtains inwards.

As the first heavy drops of an impending deluge fell, an earthly fragrance emanated or was it that of a spirit gone dry.

A stream of thoughts come running through my mind, whether to panic or to stand my ground, to flee and seek security or to ride out the storm and surrender to nature's overwhelming wrath.

The winds picked up as the rains fell in torrents, flooding then wiping everything in its path, blinding the landscape to ambiguity. 

A flash of light accompanied by a creaking sound of battling charges brightening the sky for a moment, much more so for the following thunderous roar shuddering a detached soul.

An inner battle of wills roused within, to cower in fear  or to savor the stirred emotions and be free of any dread or apprehension. But, I chose to stay and witness the power and intensity of a nature in its unrestrained frenzy.

As nature's fury subsided, the wind gradually died down and the rain substantially decreased to a mere drizzle. The animate began to wander about relinquishing their sanctuaries to pry unto what had become.

On the edge of the horizon, the azure sky swiftly led away the grays until Sol's light came filtering through.

A glimpse of epiphany... A celebration of the celestial heaven that had withstood the troubles brought about by the raw power of the earth and sky...

Filling me with relief and an intense and vibrant joy as I viewed the spectrum of colors... Reinvigorating my soul... Bringing me back to life once more...
