the magical journey

Miguel extended his hand and reached for me, beckoning me to rise and follow his lead."Welcome to my world, Lily. This is a whole lot different from the world you have lived in. In a short while, Sol's light will gradually creep into these plains and you will catch your first glimpse of Enca. If you will allow me, I am going to take you on a journey with me. It is destiny that we meet. If you agree, you will be leaving your world for good. But, I will be here."

I am still in a daze after experiencing all the harrowing things that transpired.    Miguel saved me and I owe him my life. There is no one I could trust. I don't know how to return to where I have come from. And if I do come back, there is no telling that I shall be put in danger again.  I have never ventured out of my own shell. This will be the first time I will be doing it. I listened to my heart and this is what it had to say. I have to follow and take Miguel's lead with a solemn promise to return to my family.

He took me to a clearing and made aloud whistle. From a distance, I could surmise the sound of a galloping horse. A white silhouette emerged from a blue backdrop with the moon about to set into its sentry depths. As it  drew closer, I was aghast to learn that it was not an ordinary horse after all. It has a single horn on its head. Its hair as white as fresh snow. This must be what the elders refer to as an Ephonus, the westerners would refer to as a unicorn.

The Ephonus seems glad to have been summoned by his master. It frolicked with Miguel intimately as if it has not seen its master for a very long time. "Lily, you must already know what my friend is. Meet Thule, my Ephonus. Miguel held my hand and motioned me to caress the Ephonus. As I was about to touch his face, the Ephonus withdrew.

"It's okay Thule. She does not mean you any harm," Miguel muttered to the wary creature. The Ephonus then drew its head closer allowing me to pat him. "Lily will be joining us Thule. She will be my bride."

Miguel then lifted me and mounted me atop Thule. He then settled behind me. At a loss for words, I just stared at what lay in front of us, the plains of Enca as it is slowly illuminated by Sol's light.
