33 ~ called to home...

Image
With the advent of dusk,  where daylight is about to go, the grief the wolf felt is being amplified. And much more so when the last ray of light has left ushering darkness and despair to this wounded soul. Weakness and hunger don't matter to him at that time. But soon he will try to stand and continue on living as his mother has done before him along the shrubberies, the trees and the wide open spaces of Amandiwin.  Day may give way to night. The light of the sun is never lost as moonlight takes over bathing everything in serene celestial light which in itself comes from the sun.  In his weakened state, he felt an all too familiar warmth. He opened his eyes. A vision of a majestic and regal likeness of his mother came into view. Her presence approaching him allowing him to smell her fragrance in the night air. The darkness of the evening is slowly being lifted as moonlight poured in.  She wrapped her warmth around him lifting his loneliness. But th...

32 ~ sadness and grief

Image
As he stood on a ledge with the wind blowing against his fur, an all too familiar sense pervaded. He looked around trying to pinpoint where it is coming from. Down below the raging brook he went.  Hidden from plain view under the thick shrubbery is a pile of bones. This has brought him confusion for he could not understand what it is supposed to tell him. But he knows the smell all too well... this is that of his mother... He then let out a long howl into the wind unable to contain his grief and sadness. This could not be happening, he probably uttered to himself. He did not realize that tears have started to well up and fall down his face.  He could not help but remember how comfortable and secure he felt while he was still in his mother's arms. As to how simple things were and all that he could ever wanted in the world was to be coddled and played upon by his mom. Deep inside he knew that he lost someone profound in his life.  In the course of sever...

31 ~ grown...

Image
In this earthly realm, the power of life is at its most intense. The budding leaves inch their way out to meet the light of the sun. From its slumber the grasses break out from the ground opening themselves to the sky.  On a puddle of water, I looked down and I saw something furry and puny. I looked above and I saw shades of white slowly moving amidst a blue backdrop. I looked at the water again and I see blue and white. I took a sip. To my surprise, the image that I saw got perturbed. I had to wait for awhile for the water to become still, I silent reverie, I came to admire what lay before me. Everyday, it has become a habit of mine to gaze at my reflection whenever I see a still body of water as my mom looks upon me beaming with pride. Traversing through the thick shrubbery gives its hidden secrets away as fields of lilac and bluebells come into view. A wide array of colours  in various sizes and forms provide an ethereal epiphany to the denizens of the Amandiwi...

30 ~ Lumina...

Image
My sweet child... Under my watchful eyes, you shall strive. I will guide and take care of you. Until such time when you can fend for your own, I will be here watching your every move. I shall intently listen to your heart's desires. I will feel for you. My child, I will become your beacon of light. I will be your eyes in this enchanted forest. I will grant you my vision. My eyes will be yours and together, we shall safeguard everything that lives or breathes here in Amandiwin. Though you will see things, a lot of things... Cloaked in my mantle of protection, nothing, no one can harm you. Grow in might. Be wise, The world which you are in right now will soon be threatened by the creeping forces of the dark. But we shall worry about it, when the time will come... I bestow upon you a heart of fire. In the face of danger, amidst a crowd of foes... you shall remain steadfast and unbowed 'til the end. Through the darkness, you shall light a path for those who have ...

29 ~ somebody heard...

Image
Somebody heard... A denizen of the forest did hear his sorrow filled cries. As his teardrops fell, an elemental of the earth took notice of the little wolf-pup. It seems as if his feelings reached her heart. In his sleeping state, an earth naiad lightly went to his side to comfort him and to let him feel the love he strongly desired. The naiad decided to care for him until he is ready to face the world on his own. She gave him a mantle of protection as he snuggled the same way he did with his mom. She will teach him how to survive and through his own resolve, to live. For at that moment, he would not survive by himself. He would fall prey to the elements if not the savage beasts that inhabit this land. She will be taking his mother's stead just until the next new moon. She then transformed herself into the likeness of the wolf-mom. With a slight nudge on the head, he awoke. When he opened his eyes. he saw the face of his mom. Whatever feelings of loss he had earlier wer...

28 ~ view from the edge of a cliff...

Image
The moment he stepped outside of his burrow, he was met by the blinding light of the sun. It was almost springtime where everything felt so brand new. But he wondered where his mother has gone. He whimpered as tears welled up in his eyes. Walking aimlessly, he let out crying sounds only he could understand.  Anyone or anything who could hear his whimpers, grunts and cries would know his sorrow and sympathize. But it is a cruel world; no one would seem to care except for the beast of prey who would interpret the sounds he made as an invite to a sumptuous meal. As his burrow faded from his sight, he did not seem to care. In his mind, he longed to be back in his mother’s arms. He kept on walking until he arrived at the edge of a cliff. He clearly saw the vastness of the world he must now tread alone by himself. He was amazed. But the pain he felt was more real. Though quite young, he let out his first howl onto the valley that lay before him. He shouted as hard as he could, hun...

27 ~ a pup was born...

Image
On that fateful day the sun hid behind the shadow of the moon, a lone wolf-pup was born in an inconspicuous burrow at the roots of an ancient tree.  That wolf pup was only able to make a soft whimper after he gasped his first breath of air on a cold winter day as his mother religiously licked the mucus membranes off his body. Today, he will be safe in the arms of his mother. The wolf mom then directed him close to her chest where he snuggled for warmth and gulped for nourishment.  His mother would not leave the poor little guy for quite a while. By the time he was able to walk around, his mother mustered the confidence to leave him alone in the burrow as she went out to forage for food. When he tried to follow his mom, she would usher him back never allowing him to go outside the burrow. She surmised that he was not yet ready to face the world. He can only whimper in return. Days turned into weeks, he gained strength. He is now able to walk around his den be...
